I would like to go and see the biggest Kauri tree in New Zealand. it is located in Waipoua Forest. Most people call it Tane Mahuta or " Lord of the Forest " . I liked to go visit the Tane Mahuta because I wanted to see how large it actually is, what it looks like in real life ! and since it is also the only Tane Mahuta in New Zealand !
Tane Mahuta
Malo e lelei again Licha,
ReplyDeleteYou are right, it is indeed the one and only Tāne Mahuta, but it isn't the only Kauri tree. :) I like that you've used green for your font, it's a nice little touch and very nature-esque!
You have a two good photographs that really give an idea of Tāne Mahuta's size in comparison to the surrounding trees. I noticed that you mentioned Tāne Mahuta's english name 'Lord of the Forest'. Why do you suppose it has this name?
One day I too, would like to visit Tāne Mahuta so I can see the gigantic and mighty tree up close. It has grown to be so tall and magnificent I’d love to see it in person as a picture just wouldn’t do it much justice.
Toe feiloa'i fo'i,
